The Algae Project

 
Research with Dr. Wood will be in one of two areas:  huisache OR algae.  Students engaging in huisache-related research should be able to access the BIOL 4293 LMS site for articles pertaining to that area of research.  If you have not been given access permission yet for that LMS site, please contact Dr. Wood.

This LMS site is centered around algae identification, isolation, and purification.  Genotyping of individual algae species may be done in future research endeavors.  Students are expected to keep a research notebook according to standard laboratory practices and may be required to submit a research proposal at the discretion of Dr. Wood.  A final written report of work accomplished will be required.  A minimum of 3 clock hours of laboratory per week will be required for each semester hour of credit.
